All readers in the Ages 6-11 category who earned a gold medal in the 2026 Summer Learning Program are invited to an awards ceremony on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Children will receive acknowledgement from the Mayor and City Council members and have an opportunity to shake hands with them.
The ceremony will take place at the City Council Chambers at 1016 S. Livermore Ave., at the far north end of the Civic Center Library parking lot. Please arrive by 5:30 p.m. to pick up your name card and get in line. There is no need to RSVP. Attendees will line up in order of arrival, not alphabetically. Adults should stay with their children to have an opportunity to photograph their child’s turn. Children are encouraged to wear the gold medals they received from the library.
The City Council meeting will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. and we expect the awards ceremony to go quickly. The awards night will be filmed and available on the TV30 website for viewing afterwards.
