To be eligible, participants need to be Livermore residents and students attending High School in the Fall of 2026. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older by the first day of the program. This year’s Academy dates are June 8-26, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Workshops will cover personal finance and job searching skills, as well as information about local government and becoming an informed and engaged citizen. The Academy will also include a paid internship totaling 24-hours with a City of Livermore dept. Internships will be assigned, taking into account the interests and skills of the participants.</div><p dir="auto">&nbsp;</p></div><div xat24cr="" x1lziwak="" x1vvkbs="" xtlvy1s="" x126k92a"=""><div dir="auto">When asked what they liked best about the program, a 2025 Academy Graduate said, “I really liked meeting so many people and working in a professional environment. It was very interesting to hear about how people got involved in local government and how I can participate more around the City.”</div><p dir="auto">&nbsp;</p></div><div xat24cr="" x1lziwak="" x1vvkbs="" xtlvy1s="" x126k92a"=""><div dir="auto">After applications have been submitted by Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, selected applicants will be invited to participate in an interview process. Based on interview results, a limited number of teens will be selected to participate in the Academy. Participants from previous years are not eligible.
