DESCRIPTION:<p>Then &amp; Now is a local history lecture series co-presented by the <a href="https://www.lhg.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Livermore Heritage Guild</a> and the Livermore Public Library.&nbsp;<br><br><a href="https://www.larpd.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Livermore Area Park and Recreation District</a>&nbsp;(LARPD) Open Space Interpreter Eric Whiteside will present a Then &amp; Now program entitled “A History of Ranching at Sycamore Grove Park” on Wednesday, March 18 at 7 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Storytime Room located at 1188 S. Livermore Ave. </p><p>Livermore has a rich history of ranching, and <a href="https://www.larpd.org/sycamore-grove-park" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sycamore Grove Park</a> is no exception.&nbsp;Eric will discuss the ranching history of the park's land and talk about one of its lesser-known historical landowners and ranchers, Delores Mesa.<br><br>Registration is not required to attend this free program for adults.</p><p>The event is part of the <a href="https://library.livermoreca.gov/events-services/event-calendars/livermore-reads-together" target="_self">Livermore Reads Together</a> community reading program, featuring the novel&nbsp;"<a href="https://livermorelibrary.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?query=Silver%20Lies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Silver Lies</a>"&nbsp;by&nbsp;<a href="https://library.livermoreca.gov/?splash=https%3a%2f%2fannparker.net%2f&amp;____isexternal=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ann Parker</a>.&nbsp;Pick up a copy or borrow one from us and read along.</p>
